Getting into the Christmas spirt

Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving is something I haven't done in over 8 years. I don't like the crowds, the rude people that push you out of the way, or the long lines. It just isn't worth it to me.
Well, this year I thought I would go out and see what kind of deals they would have onn kids toys. So on my way to Target, I was feeling a little hungry. I stopped at Wendy's. I sat down by the window to enjoy by mouth watering burger and fries. I was looking out into the parking lot and noticed this older homeless man walking around and asking people for money. I felt so bad. b Everyone was blowing him off, and he looked so confused. A few minutes later, he walked into Wendy's and sat his belongings down on the table and stood there and looked around. One of the workers that was cleaning up the tables started walking towards him, so he picked up his stuff and took off. Where is the Christmas spirit people!
I felt so bad. I thought this poor man is hungry and just wants to eat, and NOBODY is willing to help him out. So I was half way done eating. (I really wanted to finish) I picked up my stuff threw it in the trash and ran to the front to order a couple of burgers. Got the cheeseburgers for him and went on a man hunt to get him his food. I couldn't find him, I looked all over. So, I got in my truck and drove around. I found him standing in front of Circuit City. I parked the truck and ran across the parking lot... this was the conversation he and I had...
Me: Hi, sir. I thought you might be hungry so I got these cheeseburgers for you.
Bum: Ohh... well, I am actually homeless for the night and am looking for any money that you may be able to give me so that I can find a place to stay. (my $4 wasn't going to pay rent, and it wasn't going to fill him up in liquid form either!)
Me: I'm sorry, I don't have any money on me. I just spent my few dollars I had left on YOUR cheeseburgers.
Bum: Well, do you think you could go into this subway and buy me a bag of chips with your credit card and get some money back for me!?
What I wanted to say: ( Are you serious! I want to smash those cheeseburgers in your face right now you idiot!)
Me: No, I'm sorry. I don't have my purse or credit cards on me. Merry Christmas!
The only thing that made me not so mad, was the visual of be stuffing the hamburger bag in his face! haaha
Moral of the story....
We all need to pick our BUM's a little more carefully!!!

Jason had this happen to him when he offered some Starbucks stuff to a guy. He didn't want it--said he was diabetic--but, same thing as you, he wanted money. You did a nice thing, though, and that's what really matters.

Bums aren't just as nice as they used to be! Well, now they're "homeless" so they must feel they are in a class of their own, expecting the rest of society to take care of them. . .You did a nice thing, anyway.
