Almost 17 months... time is flying!

We went out to Riverside last weekend to visit Nana and Papa. Whenever we go there, you cannot keep Isaiah inside. He loves to go in the back yard to play with the dogs, and feed them treats. Papa whistles and the dogs come running. He taught Isaiah how to throw the treats high enough in the air for the dogs to catch ! Another one of Saiah's favorite things to do outside is pick.....I think that is the Mecham in him! (He hasn't even attended one of those pool parties at Kim's so I don't know where he got it from!!haahaa) Papa started planting a garden a couple of years back with Marcos, that was "thier thing." Now that Isaiah is old enough, it is a boy thing. He loved going in and picking all the tomatos and chiles. He doesn't care if they are green tomatos or red. At the park, he would rather go and pick berries off the small plants, then play on the toys. I guess that is his simple pleasure, and he looks so cute doing it.
Words that he is saying now are:
1. Mom
2. Dad
3. Doe Does (for Marcos)
4. car (say it like your from Boston and you'll sound just like him... Pronounced Caw)
5. bus
6. money
7. mumps
8. more
9. Papa
10. Nana
11. Bella
12. dog
13. no no
14. cheese/ banana
15. hello/byebye and many more.
Animal sounds he knows:
1. cow
2. monkey
3. dog
4. cat
5. pig
6. frog
He knows his body parts and thinks his boogers are funny.
I don't think his tiny legs stop moving unless he is sleeping. He is always busy going!
His two favorite things are Elmo and his three blue blankets!
What a great gift you are to our family! I love starting my day off when you yell from your crib "MMMMOOOOOMMMM!" I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I wish you would sleep in for 30 min. longer.... but I love seeing your happy little face, it makes getting up super early worth it! You are getting so big, so quick! I love you so much! xoxoxox Mom

Marcos' arm....

This is called the sugar cane splint. When the orthopedic took it off and left the room, Marcos put it back on. He started tearing up. He said," I don't want to throw it away. I like it! " After I told him he could keep it, the tears stopped but he refused to take it off!

He picked blue! He says his muscles look big in it! (notice the cool spider web on the elbow! Gangsta)

The story of Marcos' arm......

Most of you know it, but for those of you who do not, enjoy.

The day after Christmas we drove from Riverside. What was suppose to be a short 3 hour drive, was a 5 hour drive. When we reached state line, I got a call that my mom was having the "all boy cousin sleep over" that night. Marcos was so excited! We drove to Mindy's house got all the boys and dropped them off at Grandma's.

The next day I got a call from my mom, saying that Marcos had fallen and needed to talk to me. He was crying and was hurt. He had fallen off of a Teeder Totter that Kobie and Kavin had made a couple of weeks prior. He said that his arm hurt soooo bad. (He is always drama, but he was doing the " I am really hurt cry". So we met my mom at the Burger King on Rancho. Marc was looking homeless! I had put a pair of his old Pajama bottoms on under his pants to keep his legs warm. They looked more like kapri's . He had been playing outside in the dirt, so the white shirt he had on was now brown and blue from what ever he had eaten and now sucked onto his shirt sleeve! Dirt on his face... let's just say it looked like I found him on Rancho homeless!!!

I went straight to the UMC urgent care on Rancho and Craig. Marcos asked what they were going to do too him. I told him they were only going to take pictures of his arm. He said oh.. I thought they had too operate! They took us back in 5 minutes. That was really nice. They took x- rays of his elbow and upper arm. The doctor told me before x-rays that he thought it might just be nurse maids elbow. So, after x-rays the doctor came in and said that it doesn't appear to be anything wrong, and that he wants to see if maybe the elbow is out of socket. He has Marcos try to pop it back in. Marcos cried until he fell asleep. I asked again, are you sure there is nothing in the x-ray? He says No... The doctor asked if he wanted medicine. I said yes. It never came, so I just had them discharge us! We were almost back to Mindy's and the dumb doctor calls me on my phone. He said that we needed to come back and get a splint and sling... the x-ray tech said that there was a fracture! I was mad! We get back, and he puts us in a room. Marcos woke up crying again. I walked out and asked the Dr. for medicine. He said he would bring it right in. 5 min. goes by...no medicine. I walk out and he is still sitting on his a@#!! This time I had to yell at him. I told him... we have been here long enough! We would like the medicine now! We got it way quicker that way! I think I would trust somebody who has never studied the human body, before one of the doctors at the urgent care! He looked like a deer in head lights when Marcos would let out a scream!!!
We got back home Tuesday and Weds. he had a appointment with our regular doctor, who wanted to see how many co-pays she could milk us for. She said it's really swollen still, so I would like to see him back on Monday. Friday night we went to the store and he fell out of the truck, when he was trying to get into his carseat. He fell backwards and onto his arm again! Co-pay # 2. Yep... it's still swollen, I will send the referral to the orthopedic today, and you will need more x rays. So after he got out of school, we went and got more x-rays... I couldn't go in the x-ray room because of Isaiah. So when we took our new x-ray to the orthopedic, he said he couldn't really tell, because THEY DIDN'T TAKE OFF THE SPLINT!! ARE THEY DUMB???
So poor Marcos had to get more x-rays. All that radiation, no wonder he was glowing when I walked into his room!;) It only took 12 days to get the cast, but he got it and he thinks it is cool!

Decorating the Christmas Tree....

Marcos and Isaiah helped decorate the Christmas tree. Marcos placed all the decorations ever so neatly all on the same branch, and all around the bottom half of the tree. It turned out beautiful! Isaiah undecorated every branch aboout 100 times and broke half of the bulb decorations! He was just trying to help!;)

Christmas Day

Marcos gets a new nutcracker every year. For some reason, he really loves them.

This is as close to getting a dog as we have ever come! The kids loved it.

This is everything Marcos made off with. He must have been a very good boy!

Isaiah opened all of his own gifts this year! I loved just being able to sit back, watch, and take pictures from time to time!

All of Saiah's stuff!

If that dog pee's on the carpet one more time!!!;)

Isaiah and his new Tricycle to take to the park. He really liked it.... for about 5 minutes!

All the Santa's sitting around relaxin'.
I am so thankful that we were able to have such a great Christmas. Watching the sparkle in your kids eyes, the magic of Christmas and all of the joy that it brings. It makes all the crazy shopping and running into rude people worth it! Being around family for me is really what it is about. I am so greatful for everything that we have. Thank you Mando for all of your hard work to make it all possible! I love you.

Getting into the Christmas spirt

Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving is something I haven't done in over 8 years. I don't like the crowds, the rude people that push you out of the way, or the long lines. It just isn't worth it to me.
Well, this year I thought I would go out and see what kind of deals they would have onn kids toys. So on my way to Target, I was feeling a little hungry. I stopped at Wendy's. I sat down by the window to enjoy by mouth watering burger and fries. I was looking out into the parking lot and noticed this older homeless man walking around and asking people for money. I felt so bad. b Everyone was blowing him off, and he looked so confused. A few minutes later, he walked into Wendy's and sat his belongings down on the table and stood there and looked around. One of the workers that was cleaning up the tables started walking towards him, so he picked up his stuff and took off. Where is the Christmas spirit people!
I felt so bad. I thought this poor man is hungry and just wants to eat, and NOBODY is willing to help him out. So I was half way done eating. (I really wanted to finish) I picked up my stuff threw it in the trash and ran to the front to order a couple of burgers. Got the cheeseburgers for him and went on a man hunt to get him his food. I couldn't find him, I looked all over. So, I got in my truck and drove around. I found him standing in front of Circuit City. I parked the truck and ran across the parking lot... this was the conversation he and I had...
Me: Hi, sir. I thought you might be hungry so I got these cheeseburgers for you.
Bum: Ohh... well, I am actually homeless for the night and am looking for any money that you may be able to give me so that I can find a place to stay. (my $4 wasn't going to pay rent, and it wasn't going to fill him up in liquid form either!)
Me: I'm sorry, I don't have any money on me. I just spent my few dollars I had left on YOUR cheeseburgers.
Bum: Well, do you think you could go into this subway and buy me a bag of chips with your credit card and get some money back for me!?
What I wanted to say: ( Are you serious! I want to smash those cheeseburgers in your face right now you idiot!)
Me: No, I'm sorry. I don't have my purse or credit cards on me. Merry Christmas!
The only thing that made me not so mad, was the visual of be stuffing the hamburger bag in his face! haaha
Moral of the story....
We all need to pick our BUM's a little more carefully!!!

Breakfast conversation with Marcos...

While eating breakfast this morning, Marcos was going over all of his bumps, scrapes, and bruises. He fell off his razor at the park and skinned his knee and ankle (that one did look bad), he was talking about his back flip into the pool that this summer that resulted in 4 staples to the head, how Isaiah bit his finger last night, and how just moments before Isaiah leaned over and pinched him!
Marcos: how much worse can it get?! I have so many owwie's. I fell off my scooter, I hit my head, Isaiah pinches me and bites me! How much worse can it get?! Why don't you ever get hurt?

Me: It is all part of being a kid. You just get hurt. When I was little I had bruises and scrappes all over my legs too.

I began the wonderful story about falling out of the VW rabbit that my mom use to drive.
My sister Mindy was over at Summer Paiges house playing. My mom told me to go with her, so I could run up to the door. (I was already mad, because I didn't get to go over and play. Really I was that annoying little sister that wanted to do whatever Mindy did.)
So, we had just turned onto the Paiges street, and my mom started workin' the gas pedal. I don't know how fast we were going, probably 10 or 15 mph. It seemed more like 50! Any how, I was leaning on the not so forgiving door while playing with that contraption some like to call... the door handle! I fell right out of that sucker, but landed on my feet! I must have looked like a deer in headlights. Eyes popping out of my head the size of golfballs I imagine! I remember not really knowing what I should do, so I put my lanky legs to work and ran with the car, while holding onto the now open door! When my mom realized what was going on and stopped the car, I jumped back into the car and looked down at my toe. Now realizing that I was barefoot and now my big toe was all bloody and gross! So, I went into the Paige's house cleaned and bandaged everything and the rest is history. ( I still think my mom pushed me as a way of training me to become a better runner! Just kidding mom, I love you!

So after telling Marc this story, he was just sat there, you could see his wheels in his head turning. Finally he says this...

Marcos: Mom, how come you were being a nerd and started playing with the door handles?

Haahaa I got called out by my own kid!

Isaiah had a messy week

His, not sure if I'm caught yet face. He got a hold of Marcos' green washable marker during homework time, and hid with it.

Hitting the paparazzi only gets you in trouble!

After getting cleaned up, why not pour out a bottle of lotion?! But he looks so cute, you can't get mad at him!
